Tired of your usual burger? Check out what a group of Filipino entrepreneurs brought to the Philippines straight from Hawaii, the Teddy’s Bigger Burgers.
They say it’s the best burger in Hawaii, well I have to taste it then to know if it pars with the Pinoy taste for burgers.
So I went to Teddy’s Bigger Burgers located at Greenbelt, Makati City. With the lowest expectations in mind, since I have my preferred local pure beef burger on top of my head to compare with.
Teddy’s Bigger Burgers is located appropriately at Greenbelt 3 for people who can afford a pricier burger compared to popular, yet regular burgers in the country. Greenbelt has the crowd who are willing to try a Php 300 to 500 meal with no hesitations at all.
The interior is decorated with surfboards to highlight the Hawaiian origin of Teddy’s Burger. There are also miniature surfboards as table top decors.
Let’s go to the main part – the FOOD, particularly the burger at Teddy’s. Since it is my first time to try it, I ordered one of its best sellers in Hawaii, the Waikiki.
At Teddy’s Bigger Burgers, you can have the Original Teddy’s Burger and choose from their selection of pure ground chuck patties: 5, 7 or 9 oz for Php 265.
Plus, you can also upgrade it. Mine was the Waikiki upgrade that adds Teri, Spud, Cheddar, Cheese, Bacon and of course, the Teddy’s special sauce for additional Php 160.
On the side, I ordered large Teddy’s Crispy Fries (Php 99) and Strawberry Peanut Butter Shake (Php 70)
It was more than what I could have imagined. I think the Teddy’s Special Sauce is a big factor in the general taste of the burger, It makes the tastes of the burger more flavorful. Plus, the patty is has the right texture for my easy chewing. Owners attribute it to their pure ground chunk, they say a better meat than other burger patties.
Had I not been staying on my diet, I would have ordered a double patty or probably ordered the 9oz. Hahaha!
You can also choose to have your burger patty the way you want it from rare to well done.
I find the fries less greasy than the usual American-styled food joints.
Well, all the while, I thought that the burgers at Teddy’s Bigger Burgers are the only attractions they have, but I was surprised that I found another good-buy at Teddy’s.
Their Strawberry-Peanut Butter shake.
I find it a good combination to probably any food you can order at Teddy’s. Personally, I think Teddy’s Bigger Burgers’ Strawberry-Peanut Butter shake stole some of the attention I had for my Waikiki Burger.
Nevertheless, it is one creamy, thick, sweet shake that I would definitely have anytime, once I am at Teddy’s Bigger Burgers.
- Original Teddy’s Burger (5 oz) (Php 265)
- Waikiki Upgrade – Teri, Spud, Cheddar, Cheese, Bacon and Teddy’s special sauce (add Php 160)
- Teddy’s Crispy Fries (Php 99)
- Strawberry Peanutbutter Shake 12 oz (Php 79)
Having tried Teddy’s Bigger Burgers sets a new benchmark for me as far as burger taste and quality is concern. I have to taste the other burger upgrades of Teddy’s to know which is the best among them.
I would definitely go back for more at Teddy’s Bigger Burgers, especially if I have my order combined with my instant fave Strawberry-Peanut Butter shake.
If you haven’t tried Teddy’s Bigger Burgers, go ahead and give it a try. But if you did already, share here your thoughts about Teddy’s Bigger Burgers’ food.
