New FujiFilm X-Series Groundbreaks in PH, First in Asia

In the advent of digital photography, more and more people want better capabilities from their digital cameras. But many are wanting it in a more compact packaging. This is where FujiFilm is gearing towards to.

Just recently, the Philippines has been the venue for the launch of the new FujiFilm X-Series cameras and lenses. Filipinos enjoyed being one of the first to witness in Asia the new breed of FujiFilm X cameras.

FujiFilm’s Hiroshi Kawahara, attributed as father of the X100 series, visited the Philippines to formally introduce the next generation X-Series.

The FujiFilm X100T is a compact digital camera equipped with the world’s first electronic rangefinder, an APS-C size X-Trans CMOS II sensor, high-speed EXR Processor II image processing engine and a Fujinon 23mm F2 lens. The X100T has a new Classic Chrome feature that simulates film color.

The FujiFilm X-T1 Graphite Silver Edition is a new color variant of the Fujifilm X-T1 mirrorless camera. It boasts of fast real time viewfiender with a display lag-time of 0.005 seconds, highest display magnification (0.77x) and a dust and weather-resistant body.

The FujiFilm X30 features the newly-developed real time viewfinder, a large 2/3-inch X-Trans CMOS II Sensor (12 MP with no optical low pass filter), EXR processor II image processing engine and a new “Classic Chrome” film simulation mode. It also includes a new control ring along with extra dials and function buttons for more control and a tilting 3.0 inch 920k-dot premium clear LCD monitor. Battery performance has also been improved with its capability to shoot 470 photos in one charge. It is available in black and silver.

A telephoto zoom equivalent to 76mm* to 213mm*, and a maximum aperture of F2.8. It features a dust / water and low temperature resistance (as low as -10 degrees celsius), a triple linear motor, and the world’s top image stabilization technology in its class, so that users do not miss a shot in any conditions.

A large-diameter medium-telephoto prime lens. The fast F1.2 lens produces creamy bokeh, while its 56mm focal length, equivalent to 85mm in 35mm film format, offers a comfortable shooting distance from the subject. The built-in APD filter, the pinnacle of Fujifilm’s nanotechnology, produces even smoother bokeh, making the subject stand out even more and enhances creativity, not only for portraits, but also on a wide range of other subjects.

Along with the launch of the new X-series cameras and lenses, FujiFilm Philippines brought India’s renowed street photographers Rohit Vohra Vineet Vohra of Art Photo Feature (APF) Magazine to take FujiFilm camera owners in a two-day seminar about street photography.

While some of FujiFilm X-Photographers Philippines attested in public why they prefer using the X-Series in their professional photography. The roster of X-Photographers present in the event include Rommel Bundalian, Randall Cipriano, Niko Villegas, Lito Sy and Jan Gonzales
