If you enjoy running and biking, you’d definitely enjoyed this one, as stakeholders in Batangas put together with their version of duathlon race, the Batangas Earth and Water Festival 2015.
Runners and cyclists converged at the Pusod Taal Lake Conservation Center (Pusod TLCC) in Brgy. Kinalaglagagan, Mataasnakahoy, Batangas early in the morning to vie for the coveted race.
Enthusiasts and racers alike, joined the event to test their skill level and train themselves on a different terrain.
The scenic roads of Mataasnakahoy and Balete proved to be a challenge for many as the trails were steep and long, testing the competitors endurance, strength, balance and control.
Like its predecessor, the Batangas Earth and Wind Festival 2015, the activities are based on the two different elements that the festival celebrates, namely earth and water – Earth will be represented by a 3K-20K-5K run and bike relay.
Teams were composed of mixed solo male and female, as well as teams of all-male, all female, and mixed, with age ranging from 16 to 40 and above.
The water component was a kayak non-competitive clinic at the picturesque Taal lake.
BEWF is a Bisita Batangas 2015 event, produced by Lima Park Hotel (located in Malvar-Lipa) and supported by First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities (FAITH), in cooperation with the local government offices of Mataasnakahoy and Balete.
