SmartPhone Review: Happy Mobile D-Lite Plus 2

What can make a customer happy with a smartphone for less than P 3,000? Here’s a quick look at the Happy Mobile D-Lite Plus 2.

The Happy Mobile D-Lite Plus 2 is a decent phone with an affordable price tag. Powered by 1.3 GHz dual-core processor, 4G ROM at 1GB of RAM, this Android phone can pretty much perform in the most common smartphone functions.

The Happy Mobile D-Lite Plus 2 operates with an Android Lollipop 5.1.

As I tested the D-Lite Plus 2, I find some of the nice things to it, and the not-so good features to this phone.

For starters, though it may sound foolish to some, but I personally like the opening tune to it. True to its name, it sounds jolly and happy. Hahaha

Anyway, to more serious notes, at first glance I like the display of the D-Lite Plus 2. It showed good results as I watched the sample video that comes with the unit, and also tested it on some YouTube and Facebook videos – which normally, what people do with their phones now.

The color is vibrant and displays good contrast and sharpness on the videos.

Another thing that I liked about the D-Lite Plus 2 is the sound produced by its speaker. I find it pretty decent for its price range.

The design and finish of the Happy Mobile D-Lite Plus 2 is nice. It looks sophisticated for a unit lower than Php 3,000. What only bothers me is the back casing. When you remove it, it seems too plasticky and I was anxious that it can snap and break. Though, luckily, it did not. 🙂

The extra casing with a front cover is sweet add-on. Not every phone and brand can get third-party casings. Good thing that Happy Mobile decided to throw-in a free case to the package.

Though I have not yet done an Antutu Benchmarking on the unit, it has handled the computing tasks that people would normally use for this phone price range (calls, text, watching videos, listening to music, browsing).

The 5.0 MP rear camera is a fixed focus lens making it hard to do close-ups and you need to manually adjust your distance from the subject to take a focused shot. It has a narrow view as well.

Though, of course, it is understandable that no one can expect a high-resolution camera at a P 3,000 unit.

Here are sample photos of the Happy Mobile D-Lite Plus 2 camera (rear and front)
