By Posted on 3 m read

In time before the yuletide season, Asia’s first professional gospel theater group stages its big musical comeback, that teaches audience the true meaning of happiness, The Bluebird of Happiness. Timely as it may seem, Trumpets assembles on stage to bring the whole family a pre-Christmas treat that both adults and kids can enjoy. This is a good way of connecting with the youngsters of some values, plus, probably, introducing them, if not reinforcing, also culture and arts via stage plays.

Trumpets, on its 23rd year, is known for its blockbuster musicals for the whole family but other than providing entertainment value, Trumpets makes sure that every material they stage has an eternal message that audiences can take home with them. This time around, Audie Gemora, president of Trumpets says that they are offering the audience quite a new for this play. Since, they will bring on-stage a set of talented individuals, but hardly seen in the mainstream. Compared to other plays where they put popular personalities on stage, the roster of performers for The Bluebird of Happiness is quite the reverse.

Audie Gemora says that this would bring the crowd to the theater to watch the story, and talent of the artists, more than the name of the artists. “Nowadays, people do not know what will make them happy anymore, we seek material things and do crazy things that sometimes make us forget what is essential.” Audie Gemora said. He added that sometimes happiness is already staring at us in the face but we sadly do not recognize it. ” This is the reason why Trumpets sees the importance and timeliness of this show. “Everyone in this world is looking for happiness in one form or another and through this musical we hope that the audience sees themselves reflected in the lives of the central characters, Mytyl and Tyltyl.” says director Jaime del Mundo.
