SM City San Mateo Brings Digital Theater to the East

Last May 15, SM City San Mateo finally opened to the public. With much of the anticipation from the locals, as it is the first mall of its kind to be in the area.

Not only did SM City San Mateo opened boutiques, department store, and supermarket, along with it is the opening of digital cinemas by the SM Lifestyle Entertainment group.

A total of four digital theaters that are expected to draw crowd from San Mateo, Marikina, Montalban and other nearby areas.

The good thing about this is that nearby residents need not to go to farther malls, which they used to do, just to watch movies.

I, for one, will benefit from this as my fiancee, Cristelle Torres of GirlandBoyThing, is just a stone throw’s away from SM San Mateo, thus, we are sure to spend a lot of movie time here, instead in SM North or SM Megamall.

Another plus factor is that the rates for cinemas are cheaper compared to bigger city malls.

Best of all, wide, digital screen, with stereo-surround audio system, and less seats!

Definitely, an experience nearly like having your own theater at home.

I wouldn’t be surprised if during the early hours of the day on weekdays, the cinemas are not that occupied.
