Rey BelenIt is a common practice among Filipinos that our trips, be it leisure or business, is not complete without buying “Pasalubong” for loved ones and friends.
In my case, often times, I buy delicacies, key chain, t-shirt or ref magnet from the places I’ve been to.
It feels like that, in my own little way, I was able to bring something from my own trip to people close to me.
But sometimes, souvenir items are not just enough. Personally, I still feel “guilty” in a good sense, that my loved ones are not with me on my trips. I am thankful that I have travelled to a lot of places. But a big part of me still feels like wanting to bring them with me.
That’s why, when I watched the new video from AirAsia, it touched that soft spot in me, reminding me of my desire to have the people most important to me, experience the same things I experience whenever I travel.
For me, the experience together on a trip, will outlast any material gift I give them. In a way, a great thing to give back to the wonderful things that people important to us, deserve.
