Do You Want to Be Nurtured in Makati? Try Aruga by Rockwell

By Posted on 4 m read

When you’re staying in a place, whether for business or leisure, you often think of the location, services and amenities. These are the practical and basic things to consider, yet, most of the time, you look forward to the intangibles, what matters to you most, the feeling of being treated special, nurtured and cared for.

Just after a 2 1/2 hour drive from Malabon to Rockwell, I would have never have wanted anything less than feel nurtured.

True to its name, Aruga by Rockwell, made me feel like one – being cared for.

From the guards in the parking lot to the staff at the front desk, the warmth is evident on the service they made me feel. So my hopes were high that early, that it was going to be a pretty good stay.

Aruga” is a Filipino word meaning the act of being cared for, nurtured. It is often associated to a mother’s care for her child.

Aruga is a luxury accommodation in the midst of Rockwell. With that in mind, you can clearly feel that subtle exclusivity of the place that is actually quite nice. It always seem to be “not-in-the-Philippines” sort of thing when you’re within Rockwell, not just in the hotel.

I stayed in one of the 114 fully-furnished service apartments of Aruga by Rockwell, particularly unit 617, which is a 2-Bedroom Suite.

When I got it, the suite is totally more than I expected it to be.

I like the sophistication in the simplicity that Aruga by Rockwell set on their suite. Each detail of the service apartment shows that touch of elegance.

I love their approach to the minimalist urban concept that made me want it to be my home – seriously.

The wide, comfortable bed is absolutely wonderful, and bad, at the same light. Wonderful for those wanting rest. Bad for those who needs to get up to do things. Hahaha!

It has a fully equipped kitchen for suite cooking. There is also a utility room on the suite I was into. Some two-bedroom suites have maid’s quarter. Mine has the space for washing machine, dryer and iron. This came very handy after my morning dip before checking out.

That homey feeling is undeniable. With the service apartment fully furnished, all I needed was just food to eat. I went out for a while to go to the Powerplant mall which is just right across the street. How convenient, right?

But after a few minutes strolling inside the mall, the feel of the Aruga suite, just pulled me back. Hahaha! Let’s just call it a true staycation.

So, I just had dinner delivered to me, so I can just sit back, relax, watch movies and appreciate that homey feeling before calling it a day.

Well, next time, I will bring the necessary ingredients so I don’t have to go out of my suite anymore. Lol!

Aruga by Rockwell is not just about its suites. There’s more to it.

Aruga has a gym, swimming pool, business center, and restaurant. I visited their facilities.

At first, to be honest, I never wanted to go out of my room. Lol. That’s how much I wanted to just tuck myself in.

Anyway, I need to get up and have breakfast.

The Aruga Cafe is just right beside the hotel lobby. It offers breakfast from 6am to 10am. I had my breakfast to try out the food, and it did not disappoint me at all.

After eating, I rested and went to check out the gym. Aruga’s gym has equipment that is similar to expensive gyms in the country. I should not have been surprised since Aruga has an affinity for detail.

Of course, the staycation, wouldn’t be complete without trying the pool. I had the opportunity to see it the night before, but opted not to take the night dip, well for obvious reasons, of a movie night.

But, the nice morning mood at the Aruga pool, is just inviting. I thought at first that the pool would be exposed to sunlight, but, thanks to the towering building, surrounding the pool area, it is not directly hit by sun – which is another good reason for those who wouldn’t want that scorching feeling while swimming in the morning.

My words and cameraphone cannot justify much of the comfort, elegance and class quality that the service, amenities and equipment inside Aruga.

Even the corridor going to the pool and the function room has its own feel to it.

But one thing I know is for sure, it was a well-worth it staycation. Too bad, it was just overnight. Places like Aruga is where you would want a longer stay.
